Here
at Route 60 Music we have a large bluegrass and bluegrass
gospel clientele and we are always glad to try and help find the right instrument. Guitars, banjos, mandolins, fiddles (violins),
and resophonics are all in stock.
We
stock banjos from Morgan Monroe, Fender, Samick, and Rover. We have many wonderful banjos in stock.
Mandolins are also in abundance at Route 60 Music and we stock
a variety of finishes and styles from Weber, Eastman, Michael Kelly, Samick,
Fender, Morgan Monroe, and Rover. We also try to
keep one of Glen Dean Cecil’s handmade “BLUEGRASS”
mandolins. This is a high quality F style made from West Virginia
red spruce and sugar maple.
Most of our fiddle stock is comprised of older used instruments
and a wide variety are usually on hand. We tend to price our
used instruments extremely reasonable depending on condition,
beauty and most importantly tone. We find that different style
players each have their own desires when it comes to fiddle
tone and that many tweaks can be done to a violin to alter
its sound. Different strings, sound post and tailpiece adjustments
and such can be done to dramatically alter the tone of a fiddle.
We also keep new beginner fiddle outfits in stock usually
starting around $99. We also try to keep ½ and ¾
size student instruments on hand.
We stock Wechter/Scheerhorn and Regal resophonics at this point and price them very competitively
Please call if we can help. We also keep a few locally made
dulcimers around as well as some ukuleles.
